“Ciao Bambino” triumphs at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival with Special Jury Prize and great reviews
After its great success at the 19th Rome Film Festival, where it won the Best First Feature Award, Ciao Bambino, Edgardo Pistone’s directorial debut, also won the prestigious Special Jury Prize in the First Feature Competition section at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival.
The film, set in the Traiano district of Naples, tells the story of Attilio, a young man who finds himself having to make difficult choices between love and loyalty to his father, who has just been released from prison and is being persecuted by loan sharks. A film that, with its black and white and precise direction, offers an intimate and realistic look at the complexity of family relationships and the weight of paternal inheritances, immersed in a context of crime and desperation.
The work was appreciated for the courage of its narration and for its visually powerful approach, which avoids sentimentality or stereotypes. This feature film debut confirms Pistone’s artistic maturity. The cast includes Marco Adamo, Anastasia Kaletchuk, Pasquale Esposito and Salvatore Pelliccia.
A Bronx Film, Anemone Film, Mosaicon Film and Minerva Pictures production with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture and the support of the Film Commission Regione Campania. Coming soon to the cinema with FilmClub Distribuzione and Minerva Pictures.
